How do I know if my Optical Drive on my laptop can burn disks?
I have never tried to do anything with my laptop and I would like to know if I can burn a CD with it. I don’t want to buy CD’s and then find out that I can’t burn anything. It is a Dell Inspiron B120
Typically, there is a logo on the side of your optical drive tray that will say “CD ReWrite,” “DVD+R,” “DVD-R,” “DVD-ROM/CD Rewrite,” etc.
If it isn’t printed on the computer, try looking up your Dell Service Tag. This is usually a 7-digit, alpha-numeric number (uses letters and numbers) that is unique to every Dell computer manufactured. You can go to their website and look up the default system configuration and that should definitely tell you. (See link in the source area).
