Will the Seagate U series 9 internal hard drive work in a Dell 531s?

Becasue i have scraped a HP pc and it had a Seagate U Series 9 120gb internal hard drive and i wanted to know if it would work in my Dell 531s pc
Oh yeah the people at dell said only sata hard drives would work and i dont know if mine is a sata

the lower half is a sata drive.
basically look at your current hard drive, if it uses a sata cable, then you can buy one more cable and stick your drive right in there.
if the drive is IDE, you’ll need to do something a bit different. you need to plugh the ide on the same flat/wide cable that’s plugged into your CD rom drive. I have yet to see a computer that cannot take an IDE drive.
on a final note, you probably should stick with a sata drive (not only is it newer technology) but there’s a possibility that your computer won’t boot into windows if you have a hard drive attached to the IDE ribbon.
