if you get a blu ray burner for computer can you burn dvds already burned to blu ray?

if you have dvd-r drive and blu ray drive seperate
i know that–that wasnt my question-i have dvds that ive already burned and i was wondering if i could burn them to blu ray if i got a blu ray drive and put the old dvd in the dvd-r drive and a blank blu ray disc in the blu ray drive

You will have to check the specs of your specific burner, but most are multi format and will burn Blu-ray Dvd and cd.
