increase disk space on the server with RAID?
I have a Windows 2000 Server (domain controller) with 5 hard drives with RAID installed, on which I have 6 volumes (c: \, d: \ …). I want to increase my c: \ because it has less free space. What would be the correct method of increasing the space. Dispart I've heard of but I'm not sure it will or will not impede the existing data on the server. G
The above answer is correct. But for updates down gradually increase the size of the Winnt. The best option is to move things, like the swap file, and installs the program. Even when the profiles are stored (or simply remove the old ones). It is also a good idea to move the exchange databases and SQL databases, this can be done with little effort. Just make sure get a full backup before things around. You can increase disk size if it is already active (ie disk, take a little more free space, as if a record is added to the array and its driver supports capacity expansion).
