Is there anyway to upgrade my intel graphics card to a nvidia card geforce one on a Dell Inspiron E1705?
Specs: 2GB Ram, 110 HDD, Windows XP SP2. it has an intel mobile family chipset currently: i’d like to have a card that could at least run oblivion if thats at all possible.
Also, if this is possible, any places i could get the cards cheap besides ebay?
Unfortunately it will not be possible to change the graphics card on the system. On most notebooks when a system is configured with an integrated graphics card it will lack the slot required to add/change the graphics card. Here is the link to the service manual for your system explaining this http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins9400/en/sm/video.htm#wp1006368 “A removable (or discrete) video card is optional and present only if ordered by the customer. Standard video is integrated on the system board and is not customer removable.”
Something to consider for the system might be looking at something like this http://www.tomshardware.com/news/ces-asus-xg-station,4679.html The device described here would hook up through the ExpressCard slot on the system and allow you to use an external graphics card. There should be further information available through Asus.
