Mac harddrive in external enclosure?

I’m trying to pull files off of an old mac and onto my new PC. My external hard drive enclousure doesn’t support Mac OS X 10.4 so I can’t copy straight to that. I’m trying the mac HD in the external enclosure connected to my PC but it doesn’t recognize the HD. I’ve tried playing with jumper settings to no effect. Please help, half a dozen Marx Bros. movies are stranded! Here are the specifics on the components

If he tries to use Target mode, he will have the same problem. The drive is still Mac formatted and the PC won’t be able to mount it.

If the G4 is still available, put the drive back into it and network the 2 computers or burn the Marx Bros. to a DVD. That might not be a bad idea actually, as you will have a backup.

Im going to pull my hard-drive out of my Alienware m15x. What cord do I need to connect it to a Desktop?

Tech support told me that once you pull it out of the computer it acts just like an external hard drive. Is the cable i need a IDE to usb? Thanks for the help

You can either open up your desktop and install the hard drive by using an IDE/SATA cable to connect it to your motherboard, or buy a SATA/IDE to USB 2.0 Adapter and connect the hard drive externally through a USB 2.0 port.

What a good 2nd hard drive for me to install into my dell dimension E310.?

I need extra room for all of my media files and lots of space to add more. I’m thinking at least a 500gig maybe a 750. What the best way to set it up. I have room under my main drive. I took it apart and it has a second bay, extra data and power wire.

There are many excellent brands on the market today, Seagate, Maxtor, Western Digital, Hitachi, Quantum, Fujitsu and so many more.
The main thing to look for is the best warranty, get one with five years, and make sure it is SATA or PATA which ever connection type your system uses, SATA is faster data transfer, and if this is the type you need make sure it is a SATA II and preferably with at least 16MB of cache. SATA II is twice as fast as SATA I in data transfer

The use of internal hard disk drive spring seasons?

Someone told me that I Dell has a disk location extra hard and could put an IDE hard drive instead of 320GB ago without compatibility problems. I thought to make a docking station (for example, is BlacX docking station by Thermaltake) that supports eSATA drives up to 1TB and mounting the unit in the docking station. Although these records are stored outside eSATA compatibility problems may still occur?

The limitation of 320 GB is due to the controller FDI. Once an external hard drive, this limitation does not apply. You could buy an external enclosure at this time if you only need storage.
