All the work that we perform on our computer is stored in its hard drive . And once it fails , all the files go inaccessible . So, the failure of hard drive can cost both mentally as well as financially .

There may be plenty of reasons behind hard drive failure. When the drive fails, it is said to be mechanically failed. But in other cases , it starts giving some warning signs and thus you can detect them before they die.

Lets discuss all such symptoms that occur before and after the failure of a hard drive. Also,we will discuss about some diagnostic steps that we should apply before concluding. However, to recover from a completely failed hard drive, hard drive recovery service will be required.

• You may receive blue screen of death

If you have noticed the above discussed symptoms then first of all examine the system to check if it is indeed a hard drive failure case:

• Make sure that hard drive has been properly defined in BIOS. Enable the auto-detect option

• Ensure for proper hard drive cabling

• For an IDE hard drive, you need to ensure that all jumper settings are correct for master/slave

• Try booting the system using a bootable disk to see if it is not a logical failure issue
