How do you change the first boot sector from the cdrom drive to the dvd rom drive?

My windows wont start up even in the safe mode (it just hangs)… thereby,I need to reformat my computer. However, the cdrom drive cant read…but the dvd rom drive can. I need to know how to change the first boot sector from the cd rom to dvd rom drive….for me to reinstall the os installer disk from the dvd rom drive. How will I change it? Thanks!

If your bios boot doesn’t give you the choice between the 2 Rom drives then yank the IDE cable out of your CD-Rom and leave the DVD-Rom drive hooked up alone as the master.
